GREGORY by David Hockney (1978)

I was so fortunate to see the exhibition ‘Drawing from Life’ on its first day in March as I have always been an admirer of David Hockney. His delicate restrained drawings in various media, simply but elegantly capture the essence of his subjects. I was familiar with his early drawings of friends and family but it was a revelation to see the latest work of so many of his close friends as they are now. Gregory Evans, curator, collaborator and one-time lover was the subject of so many beautiful drawings.
